- The Byron DS-14S is a custom-built, all-solid slope shoulder acoustic-electric guitar that combines premium tonewoods, traditional craftsmanship, and distinctive custom-shop detailing. Featuring a 14-fret neck joint, vintage-inspired slot headstock, and elegant abalone appointments, this model delivers a rich, balanced acoustic voice with the projection and versatility needed for fingerstyle playing, flatpicking, and live performance.
- The AAA solid spruce top provides excellent clarity, responsiveness, and dynamic range, allowing the guitar to respond naturally to both delicate fingerpicking and powerful strumming. Paired with AAA solid Indian rosewood back and sides, the DS-14S produces deep bass, rich harmonic overtones, and impressive sustain. Thin scalloped X-bracing enhances soundboard responsiveness, contributing to an open, resonant acoustic character.
- The slope shoulder body offers a warm, full-bodied sound while maintaining excellent tonal balance. A C-shaped maple neck with a traditional dovetail joint provides comfortable playability and structural stability. The 14-fret neck joint, 43mm nut width, and 648mm full scale length offer familiar string spacing and tension, making the guitar suitable for a wide range of playing styles.
- An ebony fretboard and bridge provide a smooth playing surface, durability, and precise tonal articulation. Custom white pearl fretboard inlays beginning at the third fret add an elegant visual detail, while the traditional slot headstock reinforces the guitar's vintage-inspired character.
- The DS-14S features extensive decorative appointments, including full abalone and maple binding around the body, with matching detailing along the fingerboard and headstock. A custom-designed soundhole rosette complements the binding, creating a distinctive appearance that highlights the guitar's handcrafted construction. The thin, full-gloss finish enhances the natural grain of the spruce and Indian rosewood.
- Premium bone nut, saddle, and bridge pins provide reliable string support and efficient vibration transfer. The guitar comes equipped with pickups for amplified performance, making it suitable for live shows, recording sessions, and everyday acoustic playing.
- A protective hardcase is included for safe storage and transportation.
- At $1,599 USD, the Byron DS-14S combines all-solid spruce and Indian rosewood construction, a distinctive 14-fret slot headstock design, premium decorative appointments, and acoustic-electric versatility.
