FAQs

  • Can I provide my own wood for a guitar that I'm planning to order?
Yes . We are able to use customer supplied woods. However, it will not save any cost for a customized guitar; as we will need to do extra work to properly season, cut and make it suitable for our use.

  • How long does it take to make a special order?
The lead time for new orders can vary depending on the wood combination, features and existing backlog of orders. Most standard models can be delivered within 1.5 month. If you are considering placing a very special order, we will provide you with a price quote and time frame for delivery.

  • What is covered under my instrument's warranty?

Byron instruments are warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship, to the original purchaser. This limited warranty lasts for 3 years.
The Byron Custom Shop Warranty does not cover the following: wear and tear from normal use and any damage that is the result of misuse, abuse, or unauthorized modifications, damage from unauthorized or self-made repairs, improper maintenance, accidents, exposure to adverse temperature and/or humidity, and other careless action, which by its nature results in damage to the instrument or attached components not manufactured by our workshop.

  • What are the payment terms?

For orders from our website, the payment is 100% in advance;
However, we also accept 50% deposit (this deposit doesn’t include shipping and taxes), and the balance must be paid in full before the instrument will ship;
There is a 20% restocking/cancellation fee on all online custom shop builds that are cancelled prior to receipt the instruments; final payment must be made within 2 weeks after instrument completion.

  • How long does the shipping take?

When the guitar is completed, it is promptly given to the selected shipping agent.
FedEx/UPS takes up to 3 days to upload tracking information. Normally after that it will be 10 days or so;
If you choose standard shipping it will take longer (potentially 4-5 weeks). When the guitar has left us we can no longer stop the shipment. Order cancellation and/or disputes due to shipping and/or customs delays are not permitted.
